aturday's List was not that long. My plan was to take the boys, along with their cousin Brian, to Water Country USA in Williamsburg and then dinner at 5. I decided to be generous and let them sleep till 10.  Finally we were ready to go...but I couldn't find my pass.  An hour later it was secured but then Grant decided to give Morgen his present early. A new Sprint 'instinct' Phone! Ofcourse there had to be a little play time with the new gadget and then we made tracks to Yorktown to pick up Brian. 

When we pulled into the driveway, Brian gets in the car and I heard a sheepish voice from the backseat, coughcoughMasoncoughcough, mentioning that he forgot his pass. WHAT? Since we had dinner plans with my Mom early that evening...there was no time to drive all the way back home and get the pass...so I punted, took them to lunch at Taco Bell and the Windy Point Pool near there in Yorktown. And all was well in the adventures of Birthday Land again.

Here are a few  photos from the aquarium at the Living Museum yesterday. Can you believe the size of this turtle? You could tell he was the KING of that tank because he was all up in your face. ;-)

7. Friday        Putt Putt @ Pirates Cove in Williamsburg! (I beat them all....whooohooo)
8. Friday        Morgen finds dollar bills in each putting hole...for a total of $15...thanx to A. Robin & the girls. ;)
9. Friday        Dairy Queen!

even / Eleven...isn't that just the 'funnest' birth date? Morgen turned 15 today...and we decided to mix it up a little crazy this year. We told him that over the weekend he will experience 15 things in honor of his birthday. He has no idea when or where to expect them either, he just needs to be ready! We started this birthday adventure at 12 am this morning. Yessiree...Grant got on the intercom and told everyone to grab their pants and shoes and pile in the car, 'cuz we were goin' to IHOP! We even picked up Auntie Robin on the way, who was mighty chipper (to the chagrin of her brother)...and to think she was only hopped up on decaf. Whew!

All in all...this motley crew had a blast! 



And did you know that 7-11 gives out FREE slurpees on this day every year? How fun !! Check back later, I plan to post more photos of our '15 Morgen Adventures' all weekend.

believe that life is in the details. Too often, however,  I am moving so fast that I neglect to attend to or notice them. With the exception of a few thank you cards here and there, I rarely hand write personal notes anymore. This is sad to me, because while I love the convenience and immediacy of email and text messaging...it is by nature, impersonal. I need to write more... I used to love to write.   

Realizing this, I sat down to create a personal touch for our business today.  These are 5x5 mini folders printed on textured cardstock that holds a photo DVD. I spend so much time at my computer editing photos that it's nice when I can create something tactile. The mere act of working with paper relaxes me...even as I tied up the pretty sheer bow, it made me smile to think someone would open this small package. These two are going to the post office today...and I'm happy to say that I've included a handwritten note on the inside as well. ;-) 

 stopped by to see Mom the other morning and took a few shots of her gorgeous garden. Everywhere I looked things were blossoming and growing. Everything so green and beautiful. Mom is tanned and totally at ease here...the sun, the dirt and all that fresh air. As long as I can remember she's had a garden too. Now this isn't your average little whimpy kitchen garden either...nope! It's huge and she works it all by herself, sharing with family, neighbors and the little German store down the street.  Isn't she the cutest mama?

Last Fall, Mom asked my son, Mason, to help her get rid of the bunnies that were taking over. She devised a clever plan involving chicken wire, and staples, that they tacked along the entire length of her property about one foot up from the ground along the fence. It was a long, hard day, but they were successful. No mama bunnies, no baby bunnies...nothing was getting inside this fortress.

Apparently there are exceptions made for a black bunny named Sasha, who happens to love cucumbers, beans and anything green for that matter.;-)
